Why refer to Tribe Wellness
Many LGBTQ+ adults find it difficult to access mental health support that genuinely understands their experience. Mainstream therapy services - even well-intentioned ones - often require clients to educate their practitioner before the therapeutic work can begin. This is a meaningful barrier to engagement and retention.
Tribe Wellness was built specifically to remove that barrier. Our founder, Josh Feeney, has been embedded in Sydney's queer community for over a fifteen years — through Mardi Gras, community organising and now weekly Dance Therapy. That lived proximity is the foundation of the clinical work, not a separate credential.
For your LGBTQ+ patients who have disengaged from previous mental health support, or who are reluctant to try again, Tribe Wellness offers a genuinely different starting point.
